Back-up rings
The back-up rings are generally combined with primary seals (or O'Rings) and are used to help the O'Rings resist the effects of extrusion. A back-up ring is required for increased pressures or significant extrusion gaps in the system. Several types of back-up rings are available - concave, single spire, double spire - cut or uncut - in rubber, PTFE, POM and PA, among others.
